We believe in music education as a vital part of social, academic, and emotional growth.

          • Social:  Choir is a group to belong to and a way to invest yourself in people.  In choir, you can be yourself without any fear of being judged.  Choir provides a number of social opportunities and is a great place to practice your “life skills” as you work towards becoming adults.

Academic:  It is proven that music education enhances academic performance.  Statistics show that students who study music score higher on the SAT than students with no experience in the arts (Profiles of SAT and Achievement Test Takers, The College Board, 1977).  The study of music enhances academic skills as it contributes to the development of cognitive thinking.

Emotional:  Students need to develop their ability to express themselves in some way, through some form of art.  Music in innate and the students can benefit from finding that part of themselves for a lifetime.

Thank you for investing your time, energy and effort in this program.  Your experiences here will be SO valuable to you both now and in your future.  We are so glad that you chose to be in choir!
